I thought that the dust had settled and that my life would become stable. I was wrong…….
Have you had the experience of having your manager come up to your desk and say “Would you come into my office.” Your gut drops, you know that it isn’t going end well. But you put your best face forward, smile, say “Sure”, square your shoulders and walk in.
I remember hearing “This was the best deal I could get for you….” and not much else after that, everything became a blurr. After almost 21 years of service I was being downsized. It hits you like a brick.
I was on my own and thanks to the crash of 2009, not financially secure. Not at all the way I imagined life would be at 50 years of age, surviving not thriving.
Fast forward through the trials and tribulations, the sleepless nights and anxiety. Wondering what am I going do now? Crying on the phone to my Dad.
So much has now changed! Life is exciting! In what most of the world sees as an end, I found a new beginning.
My passion and purpose is to empower women to find ways to take care of themselves and take charge of their lives. In losing what I thought was security, I found purpose.
